We are very excited to announce that on Friday 16th March 2018, Greenways were announced as the overall winner of the City Catering Junior Chef 2018 winner. 6 children from a group of 12 were chosen to enter the competition back in February where the school hosted a “cook off” to find a winner who could represent Greenways in the final rounds held during the week commencing 12th March. We had two children chosen to represent Greenways at the finals held at Foxes Bank Farm in Nantwich on Wednesday 14th March. Both of our children won their heats at Foxes Bank where Staffordshire Sausage Paella and Cheese, chive and bacon muffins were cooked. We are really proud of both of the children who represented us.
Our winning chef cooked a Staffordshire Sausage Paella which will feature on City Catering menu’s from September 2018. Taking home a huge box of cookery utensils along with chefs whites and cookery books. The school came away with almost £900.00 worth of cooking equipment, enabling us to run cooking classes in school.
