Gemma Peake has worked within the Education sector since 2001. She is a Secondary Science Faculty Leader with a vast experience in Science Education including provision for Primary, Secondary 11-18, and some adult education. This includes the provision of CPD for colleagues from all phases Primary and Secondary, some of this as part of the lead practitioner network for the SSAT.
For many years Gemma has been involved in Coaching and Mentoring and acts as ‘Science Subject Expert – Chemistry’ for Keele University as part of the OAKS SCITT. Gemma has been involved in many of the training centres including Universities and SCITTs, The KNSP Scitt, MMU, St Josephs, Derby, Chester and Keele.
As well as teaching and learning she has also been involved in developments regarding the design and build of laboratories for teaching and learning, and a national project to increase the use of ICT in Science at GCSE.
Gemma holds the NPQSL qualification and is currently studying for a Master’s in Education Policy and Practice. She has been involved in research regarding effective mentoring and CPD within the education system. Her current research is regarding the use of practical to teach the sciences.
Her passion is for Science education and for quality professional development for all educators.
