Sport

The children are taught high quality PE with our own teachers and instructors, ensuring our staff are skilled in delivering high quality physical education.

This is complimented with our links with Excel Academy and Hanley Town sports.  Our children perform at an Annual Dance show at the Victoria Hall and the children play sport competitively across the City.  Our football team does extremely well in both local and National competitions.  The children swim, many exceeding the 25m requirement of the National Curriculum.  They also compete at athletics each summer; again some children go on to represent the city.  In addition our Year 5 children attend a week residential trip to Stanley Head Outdoor education centre  http://www.stanleyhead.org.uk/ this enable the children to access many outdoor pursuits including bouldering, canoeing, high ropes, orienteering, as well as developing team skills and independence.

Victoria Hall Dance Show 2019

On Tuesday 12th March, our KS2 dancers attended the annual dance show at Victoria Hall where the theme this year was ‘Passport to Dance.’ Our pupils worked closely with two students from Excel Academy (Molly and Olivia) to perform an American themed dance to Footloose and Proud Mary by Tina Turner. This up beat routine soon got the audience singing and clapping along as the dancers put on an amazing show.

For yet another year, our Greenways football team has brought home the Burslem League Winners trophy after their brilliant performances this year. The team attended the finals on Friday 8th March and played some fantastic final matches (even in the pouring rain) to be crowned the winners. Congratulations!
