Welcome to Year 2
In Year 2, we focus on building independence and resilience towards learning. Expectations are high; we take our School values very seriously because we understand just how crucial they are to achieving lifelong success.
We are extremely excited to be able to introduce ourselves as Year Two. In 2JB Mr Brown is the class teacher and Mrs. Barnett is the teaching assistant. In 2JR, Miss Rowe is the class teacher and Miss Townley and Mrs Bee are the teaching assistants. Teachers and Teaching Assistant’s work together to ensure every child’s needs are met on a daily basis. We work together to ensure that we all have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of each child in the cohort, which in turn enables each child to feel secure and safe in school. We are passionate about our vocation and we always want the children to achieve their best.
What can parents do?
The most important thing that parents and carers can do at home to support their child’s learning is regular reading followed by discussion about the book. Alongside this, in Year 2, building their confidence with the 2, 3, 5 and 10 times table will provide them will an excellent foundation for their mathematical development.
We are friendly and approachable and we welcome any ideas that you may have to further your child’s education. We feel it is important that all parents/guardians have a strong communication with the staff as this creates a strong community and we advocate an open door policy.
We are looking forward to the year ahead as we are all on a journey to success.
